In our Hackerhaus we only cook with fresh regional products that are grown in Bavaria. To give you an impression, we would like to briefly introduce you to some of our manufacturers:

Bavarian cheese from the Reissler cheese dairy in Nordendor, Bavarian rapeseed oil from the Wagner oil mill from Niederviehbach, fresh fish from the Isar fish farm Aumühle from Egling, eggs, flour and hand-scraped spaetzle from Scheicherhof from Rehling, Bavarian beef and veal from MuWe from Gmund, Bavarian Broiler chickens from the Groß poultry slaughterhouse in Massing, Bavarian ducks from the Lugeder poultry farm in Pleiskirchen, baked goods from the Gürtner organic bakery in Munich and many other suppliers from the "Certified Quality Bavaria" and "Bio Bavaria" programs.

Tradition of the Old Hackerhaus

The history of the Old Hackerhaus goes back to the 15th century. Until the 18th century the Brewhouse-Brewery is known as "Prew im Haggenviertel". Since January 2020, today's Old Hackerhaus is managed by the innkeeper couple Christine and Lorenz Stifl.

The Hackerhaus impresses with its cozy charm, the many different Parlours-Rooms invite you to stay and can be booked for exclusive events. You can enjoy a good meal or drink from the beer garden in the Sendlinger Straße and soak up the flair of the pedestrian zone. Or you can visit our beautiful patio.

The Stiftl family has many years of experience in this field of gastronomy, from large tents at folk festivals to catering for major events. Do you have special requests and want to create a menu for your guests or do you have a specific idea for the decoration?

The “Alte Hackerhaus” is something very special for me and my wife Christine Stiftl.  Munich’s tavern culture is very important to us and we want to offer our guests, whether small or large, a second home.  A feel-good ambience with a large beer garden, right on Sendlinger Straße 14, the Schützenlisl® in the inner courtyard and the rustic Stüberln in our historic tavern.

The Bavarian tradition also includes our in-house butcher’s shop in the north of Munich, which is EU certified. All cold meats that we produce fresh every day are from the state-approved program “QB-Bayern” (www.gq-bayern.de).

Experience real Bavarian flair in the heart of Munich’s city centre.  We are very pleased to welcome you as a guest in our tavern “Altes Hackerhaus.”

In-house butcher

This is unique! Stiftl has its own EU-certified butcher's shop in the north of Munich and produces all sausage and meat products fresh every day. Our master butcher Andreas Jung obtains the meat from farms in the region. With our own sausage products we participate in the program "Geprüfte Qualität Bayern" and "Bio Bayern".

Andreas and his team produce the freshly kettled white sausages every day with great attention to detail and, above all, with a love of the butcher's profession. In addition to the delicious traditional sausage, the butcher's shop also produces "Wiener", woolly sausages, pork bratwurst and liver loaf. We obtain our meat exclusively from farms in the region. Andreas and his team process the delivered meat products further. Here they smoke, salt, cut, pickle, cook and season! Our team of butchers brings that special taste to sausage and meat products.
